The contribution to the preservation of nature Kyrgyzstan is making environmental movement "BIOM"
A great deal of interest in the international meeting of representatives of countries participating in the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Bonn led to the results of the study environmental movement (ED) "BIOM".
Kyrgyz delegation presented colleagues from more than 20 countries, the results of implementing programmes to conserve the unique ecosystem of mining province.
-- During the discussions, particular attention was paid to forest biodiversity, assessing their condition and ways to preserve - shared with the Central Asian correspondent of "the Russian newspaper" Deputy Chairman ED "BIOM" Ilya Domashov. -- Encouraging that the monitoring data, which we carried out together with colleagues from the NGO "Aleyne" and specialists gosagentstva of Environment and Forestry of the Government of the CD is clearly interested in leading experts international community.
As my interlocutor, these topical issues movement activists engaged now in its fourth year. In the first phase biomovtsy target was to identify risks and challenges associated with forestry in specific regions of the country. In particular, they conducted a study on the population to such a difficult task. Employment of young environmentalists found support not only among respondents monitoring, but also among experienced forest industry.
-- It is important that everything that produce forests, it is distributed to the local population - Domashov explained. -- General with the inhabitants of remote areas, we learned that in the allocation of land in the construction of fences on small forests there are many conflicts.
According to Elias, the need for such a study arose for two reasons: firstly, in Kyrgyzstan has not yet determined the exact size of forests. Simply put, more data on the availability of Soviet times in the mountainous province of this type of natural resources today are untrue. It has its own statistics, officials forests and rural governments information about them and sometimes does not. All of this leads to what is essentially deteriorating quality of forest itself: they redeyut, moving from the natural kind in the park.
FAO is no coincidence - the UN Food Programme, including dealing and conservation of forests and their products, is now an attempt to make an inventory of forest land. Kirgizstantsy also participate in this important process. Partners "BIOMA" here - NGOs "Aleyne", government and international organizations. No less fruitful cooperation and develops environmental movement with scientists, experienced experts from the Institute of Forests and orehovodstva the National Academy of Sciences.
-- Natural forests of the mountainous province, especially areas untouched by man, in need of enhanced protection by the State and society - comes into the conversation known scientist-ecologist, Professor Emil Shukurov. -- It is necessary to protect them first. But this must rethink itself relevant to the forest. It is not just trees, berries, herbs, mushrooms, but also a complex ecosystem consisting of plants, animals, microorganisms, which, if not violate, creates favourable conditions for the rights and living organisms living in it. Globally, the importance of forests simply invaluable: they diminish the destructive power of natural disasters, contribute to rainfall, clean water, stabilizing influence on climate.
It is these principles, according to experts, and should become the basis for modern forest policy of Kyrgyzstan. No less significantly and the establishment of the republic mikrozapovednikov wildlife.
-- Of course, we can not eliminate all "white spots", forest solve all problems, but trying to find a carefully preserved land-iusi shed their safety with the help of the local population - said in conclusion Domashov. -- Determine what action to protect them better implemented in Priissykkule, Ke-Minsk region, Osh and Dja-lal-Abad areas where the spread unique spruce, and juniper forests orehoplodovye.
