The group of Norwegian and Russian experts visited Kamchatka, in order to know the quality of local fish products and to prepare relevant proposals for the meeting of the intergovernmental commission, which will be held on 24 October.
Guests of the peninsula represented a similar structure. Norwegians - Services to monitor the quality of food, we - the Federal Service for Veterinary and phytosanitary (Rosselhoznadzor - RSHN). They both are responsible for the safety of fish products, which will go a speech in mezhpravkomissii co-chaired by First Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation Viktor Zubkov.
The active engagement of these services due to the fact that Norway and Russia increase the import of fish into the territory of both countries. We mainly export raw.
Neighbors - the finished product. In the past year, from Norway to Russia was delivered 74 thousand tons of trout and salmon, 240 thousand - herring, 350 thousand tons - another fish.
Norwegian salmon is the entire Russian market - foreign visitors saw themselves. In one of the restaurants Petropavlovsk they ordered the dish of salmon, expecting to see on the table Kamchatka fish. They brought a Norwegian.
The head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries (AFD) in the Extrême Andrew August visit to the Kamchatka called this situation «abnormal». And promised to restrict the importation of fish. So far this has not gone before, you'll need to negotiate with the Norwegian side that its products meet our quality requirements.
That is the Russian-Norwegian working group. Specialists meet twice a year: in March in Norway in September - in Russia. This time Norwegians arrived in Kamchatka. The guests visited a number of fishery enterprises, attended the meeting in the provincial administration RSHN. As a result, a work plan until March 2009-first, when the group meets in Oslo.
We are accustomed no doubt a product of the Scandinavian countries. But there are exceptions to the rules.
- Before the start of our cooperation in the Norwegian losose were found heavy metals - said Chief of institutional inspection department RSHN Igor Cherny-Shenk. - As a result of the importation of the fish was suspended for five months. We have examined the 20 Norwegian companies, which export salmon. Of these, 15 are certified. Foreign colleagues are checking local businesses and send us a report. Today, we are cooperating with similar services from 24 countries: almost all of South America, USA, Iceland, Morocco, Mauritania.
According to Chernyshenko, after two years of joint work problems with the quality of products from Norway almost does not arise. Anything that threatens the health of Russian consumers, able to detect even before the moment of departure. For example, in March, the Norwegian company in two shipments of fish have been found dangerous bacteria.
All these procedures are far less related to Russian exporters, who export fish, usually from the areas of fisheries. But this will only be until next year.
Igor Chernyshenko recalled that from 1 January 2009-the first fish will be exported only through Russian ports. Its supplier must have a veterinary certificate. Without it, Norway and other countries that signed the relevant agreement, the goods will not. So, according to experts RSHN, chapter FAR statement that «veterinaram at the port has no place», premature.
According to the Norwegian side, Mr. Voogi, during a visit to Kamchatka, he and his colleagues were able to assess the quality of local fish production and the work of Russian colleagues to monitor its safety. Both are - at a level that concluded Mr. Voogi.
Products Kamchatka fishermen did reach Norwegians.
